12 Jyotirlingas Tour

Lord Shiva is believed to have 12 manifestations and each of the 12 Jyotirlingas is considered to represent a different one. At all these places the Lingam, representing the infinite and endless nature of Shiva is the main image. Visiting one or more of the Jyotirlingas is believed to give the visitor healing from both mental and physical ailments. Somnath Temple

This temple in Gujarat is believed to have been built by Somnath, the Lord of the Moon, to show his gratitude to Shiva.

Mallikarjuna Temple

This temple is also a Shaktipeeth. It is located high in the Nallamala Hills in Andhra Pradesh and is dedicated to the Goddess Bhramarambika.

Mahakaleshwar Temple

Located on the banks of the Shipra River in Madhya Pradesh, this temple is a symbol of eternal time. A unique feature is Idol of Shiva faces South.

Omkareshwar Temple:

Located in Madhya Pradesh on an island in the Narmada river where it joins the Kaveri, this temple is famous for its majestic meeting hall or Sabha Mandal.
